Masks for Health Workers
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Tahija Foundation through Wahana Visi Indonesia donated 90,000 KN95 masks for medical workers in Jakarta and several areas in the remote of Nusa Tenggara Timur and Papua in coordination with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Ministry of Health and the regional government.
From May 2020 until June 2020, 9,600 masks have been received by several public health facilities in Jatinegara and Penjaringan (Jakarta) and Kupang (Nusa Tenggara Timur). Another 50,400 masks are being trasnported to some public health facilities in Ngada, Nagekeo, Ende, Kupang (South Central Timor), Sikka, Southwest Sumba and Alor. The masks will also be sent to several areas in Papua, i.e., Biak, Jayapura, Jayawijaya and Asmat.
Yayasan Tahija is very concerned with the safety of health workers in performing their duties in dealing with sufferers of COVID-19. We hope these masks can protect the health workers that are required to be in close contact to directly handle cases with high infectious rates.
