Since April 7, 2020 Yayasan Tahija (WMP-Yogya) BSL-2 plus Diagnostic Laboratory has been fully used for screening COVID-19 samples. The lab currently extracted 38 COVID-19 RNA samples from patient per day, with qPCR performed on the same day. In one week, 230 samples were screened, with test results that can be obtained in 24-48 hours since the day the samples were processed. If the number of samples increases, the diagnostic lab can screen up to 800 samples per week.
We hope the laboratory could provide a fast and accurate diagnostic results to support the control of COVID-19 in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas.
