Wolbachia Study to control Dengue shows promise

EDP-Yogya.  Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a threat in the world, especially in tropical countries. In March 2016 the World Health Organization (WHO) organized a Vector Control Advisory Group (VCAG) to review the choice of mosquito control programs in response to Zika’s disease. This meeting came up with recommendations for the dissemination of the Wolbachia method. This recommendation is encouraging for the Eliminate Dengue Project (EDP) Yogya to continue the research in fighting dengue and Zika viruses which are carried by the same carrier (vector), Aedes aegypti mosquito.
